Another issue with disabling connected experiences, users are no longer able to open SharePoint files in the desktop Office365 apps, the files open in the web version. I had previously disabled connected experiences for all, but a cpl of users started having issues. Had to reapply the policies. Optional Connected Experiences is more of an oxymoron.
